Benefactor Fraud

Attackers pose as wealthy benefactors or charitable organizations offering victims large donations. These attacks often claim the victim has been randomly selected for a generous financial gift or an endowment, but require the victim to pay upfront fees, taxes, or processing costs to claim the money. In some cases, the adversary can request sensitive financial details under the pretense of facilitating the transaction, leading to identity theft or financial fraud.
